·        The ALC uses the American Interchange series by Cambridge University Press and the NorthStar Building Skills for the TOEFL iBT series by Pearson/Longman. 

·        The Interchange series integrates the four basic skills - listening, speaking, reading, writing - and additional sub skills (grammar, vocabulary, spelling, etc.).

·        The NorthStar TOEFL iBT series integrates the four basic skills – listening, speaking, reading, writing – and additional sub skills (grammar, vocabulary, spelling, etc.) as well as the ten test skills necessary for the TOEFL iBT. 

·        Courses are offered at six different proficiency levels.

·        Students will be required to successfully complete parts A and B before advancing to the next level.

·        New students are required to take a placement test to determine their appropriate level.
