The American Language Center (ALC), in brief
The American Language Center (ALC) was opened in 1989 by the Public Affairs Section of the U. S. Embassy in Amman to provide English language training while exposing students to American-styled education and culture. The ALC has since evolved into a state-of-the-art English teaching program based on the most current and successful American educational practices. Our ALC courses focus on using the Communicative Approach to language learning. We encourage our students to fully participate in the learning process and enjoy themselves while learning to use English in both professional and social situations. We actively engage students in interactive computer- based activities and Internet access in our computer labs. We continue to upgrade our facilities and programs to meet the needs of the Jordanian public to integrate them into a global environment..
